Maxi Gomez happy at Celta Vigo despite West Ham and Liverpool interest

Maxi Gomez has revealed he is happy to stay at Celta Vigo this summer despite seeing reports linking him with a move to the likes of West Ham, Liverpool and Barcelona.

The striker was a target for the Hammers in January, with speculation surrounding Marko Arnautovic’s future at the club, but Celta were keen to keep hold of their key man due to their involvement in a relegation battle this season.

Gomez enhanced his reputation once more on Saturday by scoring the opening goal in Celta’s crucial 2-0 win over La Liga champions Barcelona, to move them three points clear of the relegation zone with two league games remaining.

There are many comments through social networks, what if I sign for Barcelona, if I go to Liverpool. I am very calm and in Vigo I feel very comfortable

Gomez has scored 13 goals and created five assists for the La Liga side this season in their battle to avoid relegation.
