West Ham have been handed a blow in their pursuit of Alaves centre-back Guillermo Maripan, with the La Liga side not interested in selling.
The Hammers have been linked with a move for the 24-year-old this summer and according to the Daily Mail, have even launched a £9.5m bid for the player.
However, according to Spanish media source AS, cited by Inside Futbol, Alaves have no interest in selling the Chile international.
Maripan has excelled in Spain’s top division this season and currently has a deal with the club until 2021.
Manuel Pellegerini is keen to add to his defensive options this summer, with the Hammers set to implement a new transfer strategy in the upcoming window.
West Ham officials are keen to bring in younger players on smaller wages, instead of purchasing experienced signings on higher salaries.
