West Ham hope to take advantage of Real Madrid’s summer clearout as they eye a move to sign Dani Ceballos.
According to the Mirror, both Manuel Pellegrini and director of football Mario Husillos are big admirers of the Spaniard and believe that he could be a huge success at the London Stadium.
Ceballos is being tipped to leave Real this summer having fallen out of favour in Spain.
He is not in the first-team picture under Zinedine Zidane and that does look like changing anytime soon, with Real expected to strengthen during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Ceballos has been linked with moves away from the La Liga giants in the past and was once believed to be a transfer target for Liverpool, but as of yet, no move has come to fruition.
The lack of Europan football may hinder West Ham’s pursuit, but they would certainly be able to offer the Spaniard regular first-team football in the Premier League
Why Ceballos would be a good signing for West Ham
Ceballos has European experience under his belt and if West Ham are looking to break into the top seven, this will be crucial. Having players with his quality around will help the Hammers make that step up.
Eager to play
Ceballos has been out of favour at Real Madrid for some time now and he’ll be eager to get playing for the sake of his international career.
With Marko Arnuatovic’s future up in the air at West Ham, the club could use a marquee signing this summer if he does leave.
Get the fans excited
Signing a player from a club with the stature of Real Madrid should never be unestimated. This isn’t even a player coming towards the end of his career, the best is yet to come from Ceballos.
