West Ham targeting Welsh star Joe Allen

Joe Allen is one of a few players that could potentially be leaving Stoke City this summer, with West Ham and Watford interested in the midfielder.

Reports say that upon the opening of the summer transfer window, the 29-year-old is likely to be on his way out of the Championship side.

According to the Telegraph, Stoke have a number of players who are being linked with moves away from the club as a result of their failure to earn promotion back to the Premier League.

Goalkeeper Jack Butland is one of those players, with rumours of a transfer to the Premier League, with both Crystal Palace and Bournemouth interested.

Allen is another player set to leave the Potters, and although the Welshman has three years remaining on his contract at Stoke, there is interest from Watford as well as the Hammers.

With an impressive six goals and three assists from the centre of midfield this season, the ex-Liverpool and Swansea star would be a solid addition to the West Ham side.

He has 199 Premier League appearances under his belt, proving to be a reliable player in the middle of the park, and would most certainly add depth to a team wanting to push further up the table next season in an attempt to earn European qualification.
