Tottenham make offer for West Ham target Maxi Gomez
Tottenham have made a bid for West Ham target Maximilano Gomez as the race for the striker heats up.
Celta Vigo’s Gomez has long been linked with a move to the London Stadium, with speculation intensifying in January amid speculation of Marko Arnautovic’s potential move to China.
Though that move failed to materialise, Gomez was still said to be a target for the Hammers, but they now face competition from Tottenham who have made a bid believed to be in the region of €29million, Sport Witness report via Galicia Press.
However, Spurs’ bid falls short of Celta Vigo’s €35million valuation of the striker, as they reportedly look to sign a striker capable of competing with Harry Kane for a first team spot.
The Hammers are also looking to strengthen their attacking options, with Andy Carroll set to leave the club in the summer and Javier Hernandez also being linked with a move away.
Gomez has scored 11 goals and registered five assists in 30 appearances for Celta, who have been battling to avoid relegation from La Liga this season.
