West Ham and Manchester United eye Everton Soares

West Ham United and Manchester United are reportedly in the race to sign Gremio forward Everton Soares.

According to claims from Italian news outlet Calciomercato.it, the Hammers are among the clubs who have established an interest in bringing the Brazilian attacker to Europe this summer.

Everton made two consecutive appearances for his national team during the recent international break and has been attracting attention in the past months from clubs in England and Italy, particularly.

Calciomercato.it’s report states that AC Milan have been long-term admirers of the 23-year-old, while Roma are the latest Serie A side to enquire over a possible summer deal for the attacker, who has played on the left wing in recent outings for Gremio.

West Ham and Manchester United appear to be the two Premier League front-runners in the race to sign Everton, and they could do so for a fee lower than the €60 million that his release clause is set at.

The report suggests that Gremio do not want to lose their star man but would be willing to negotiate a deal worth a sum between €20 million and €30 million.
