Lucas Digne has been a revelation for Marco Silva and Everton since joining on a five-year deal from Barcelona in the summer, costing up to £20million, but he may not be available to face West Ham United next week.
The 25-year-old’s immense form this season recently earnt him a call-up to the France national team where he would’ve been first-choice with Lucas Hernandez, Benjamin Mendy and Ferland Mendy all injured.
However, Layvin Kurzawa played at left-back in Friday’s 4-1 win in Moldova and according to RMC Sport, cited by Sport Witness, Digne suffered a hamstring injury during training on Thursday.
He hasn’t officially returned to Merseyside yet, which should give Everton fans hope, but at the moment it’s looking very likely he’ll miss the West Ham game which should come as a major boost for Manuel Pellegrini and Co.
The Hammers are undefeated at the London Stadium in 2019 and showed true grit and spirit last time out to come back from 3-1 down and defeat Huddersfield Town 4-3.
Everton also picked up a crucial victory at home to Chelsea, which sets up next Saturday’s clash nicely. Digne’s absence will hit the visitors hard though and West Ham must make sure they target any weaknesses they may find.
