West Ham are in pole position to sign highly rated Sporting Lisbon youngster Nuno Moreira, according to Sport Witness via Portuguese outlet Report.

The winger is out of contract with Sporting this summer and the Hammers lead the race in the pursuit of Moreira’s signature, though the Liga NOS side are looking to keep the 19-year-old at the club.

Moreira turns 20 in June and is reportedly growing frustrated at the lack of first team opportunities at Sporting, sparking interest from clubs across Europe, and West Ham is the winger’s ‘most likely destination,’ the report suggests, due to the club’s financial muscle.

Leicester City, Celta Vigo and Genoa are also said to be eyeing a move for the youngster, who has trained alongside Sporting’s first team recently but is yet to make a senior appearance for the Portuguese side.

Sporting are well known for producing a host of talented players, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani, Joao Mario, William Carvalho and Joao Moutinho all coming through the ranks at the club.
