Premier League club West Ham United have been given a big boost in their pursuit of Gary Medel.
The midfielder is currently with Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas but he is reportedly becoming increasingly unsettled at the club.
The Hammers were linked with a move for the Chile international last summer and could be enticed into making a move for him for a bargain price.
Italian news outlet CalcioMercato have reported that the midfielder could be available for just £3.8m at the end of the season.
The London club also pursued a move for Medel in the January transfer window but Besiktas insisted that the former Inter Milan midfielder was not for sale.
West Ham could face competition for Medel’s signature as Serie A side Lazio are also monitoring his current situation in Turkey.
Manuel Pellegrini wants to add depth to his midfield and at such a low price, Medel is a low-risk signing. He has played in the Premier League previously with Cardiff City.
