Noble breaks down Hammers’ plan to beat Man City

Mark Noble is confident his side can get a result against Manchester City on Wednesday evening, when his side face-off against the champions at the Emirates.

A challenging trip at the best of times, Pep Guardiola’s side will be fresh off their League Cup success at the weekend, where they defeated Chelsea on penalties to lift the trophy.

The Hammers were beaten handily by City earlier in the season, being on the receiving end of a 4-0 drubbing at the London Stadium.

Things could be different this time around, however.

Noble certainly seems to think that his side will be better prepared. Speaking to the official club website, the 31-year-old said:

We do [work on set plays] for every game because we know Snoddy (Robert Snodgrass) has got a fantastic delivery and, in all honesty, we haven’t scored as many [set piece goals] as we should because we haven’t attacked the ball well enough,

On Friday, Issa [Diop] has got his first Premier League goal. I thought he attacked the ball great and Mikey [Antonio] could have scored just after that.

It looked like the set plays were causing them a lot of problems. We had five or six corners in the first half alone and we got two great goals.

Coming off the back of an impressive 3-1 victory against Fulham, Noble is hopeful that good form will continue into Wednesday’s clash.

All in all, we’ve had great form here in the last couple of months and Friday was another great win for us,
