West Ham readying improved summer bid for Zapata
West Ham could make an improved bid to sign Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata during the next summer transfer window.
According to reports cited on Calcio Mercato, the Hammers are refusing to give up in their pursuit of the player.
It has been widely reported that West Ham failed with a €40 million offer to sign the player in January.
Zapata has been in fine form this season and West Ham had shortlisted the Colombian as a potential replacement for Marko Arnautovic when it looked like the player would be on his way out of the club.
The striker, who has scored 16 league goals this season, is currently on loan at the Serie A side from Sampdoria and they have an option to buy him permanently for around €12 million.
Atalanta could now take up that option and sell the striker on for huge profits, with interest in the Premier League refusing to go away.
