West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini has spoken about Jack Wilshere’s recovery from an ankle injury.

As reported on HITC, the midfielder had to undergo ankle surgery earlier in the season after only making five league appearances for the Hammers.

The former Arsenal man has been plagued with injuries for several years, but Pellegrini revealed that his recovery is going as planned.

He said:

Jack [Wilshere] will finish his eight weeks after his ankle surgery next week. He will return to different work and then we will see how he is.

Pellegrini will be in no rush to hurry Wilshere back into action and will make sure that the Englishman is 100% fit before integrating him back into the first team squad.

Declan Rice and Mark Noble have cemented their positions in midfield in the absence of Wilshere, who will be desperate to get back on the pitch for some game time before the end of the season.
