West Ham United defender Reece Oxford would be keen to ‘play for a club like Bayern’ one day, according to his agent.
Aidy Ward, who represents the youngster, spoke to Fussball Transfers recently about his client’s aspirations for the future.
Oxford completed a loan move to Bundesliga club FC Augsburg towards the end of the January transfer window, and his agent has since been speaking to the German press.
The 20-year-old has previous experience of playing abroad following his exploits with Borussia Monchengladbach.
He was once tipped for big things at West Ham but hasn’t yet stamped his authority on proceedings with the Hammers, which has seen him depart on numerous loan deals.
Oxford remains ambitious, however, and Ward discussed his hopes to play for a club of Bayern Munich’s prestige, while also stating how he looked up to their former midfielder and England international, Owen Hargreaves. He said:
He went to Germany as the first of the current generation [of young English players]. Reece is a big fan of Owen Hargreaves. He always thought it would be great to play for a club like Bayern one day.
