West Ham pull out of Batshuayi deal

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi will reportedly not be joining West Ham United on loan.

Darren Lewis of The Mirror claims that the Hammers have exited the race to sign the Belgian international today, with the forward refusing to budge on his wage demands of £170,000 per week.

Reports earlier suggested that Manuel Pellegrini’s side had agreed to sign the former Marseille man on loan until the end of the season, with Real Betis also reaching the same stage of negotiations with Chelsea.

However, it does not look like Batshuayi will be arriving at the London Stadium before the transfer window slams shut, as his financial demands exceed the expectations of West Ham.

The striker joined Valencia on a season-long loan in the summer but has struggled to make an impact, leading to speculation surrounding his short-term future.
