West Ham won’t loan Reece Oxford out

West Ham are refusing to let young starlet Reece Oxford leave the club on loan before the January transfer window closes on Thursday, according to a report by the Mirror

Dutch club Heerenveen want to sign Oxford on-loan until the end of the season.

However, West Ham are demanding a hefty loan fee for the youngster and want for Heerenveen to pay all of Oxford’s wages for the remainder of the season.

The 20-year-old is eager to secure a move away from the Hammers in this window as he looks to play more regular first-team football in order to aid his development.

West Ham are extremely reluctant to set Oxford leave the club this January but could allow the star to leave in the summer.

Championship side Nottingham Forest had also been interesting in landing Oxford on a loan deal this month but no such deal prevailed.

Oxford had previously enjoyed two loan stints with Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach in the past but the club have since not enquired about his availability due to West Ham’s firm stance on his availability.
