German Bundesliga club Schalke have submitted a loan offer for West Ham striker Lucas Perez, according to BBC Sport reporter David Ornstein.
The offer is understood to include an option to buy the former Arsenal man after the proposed loan spell ends.
The 30-year-old joined the Hammers for just £4m but has found it difficult to cement a starting position at the club.
With Marko Arnautovic deciding to stay with the London club, Perez knows that his chances of first-team action will be limited.
The Hammers will get a loan fee from Schalke for Perez and if he impresses then there could also be a permanent fee at the end of the season.
It seemed that Perez would get his chance of more regular action earlier in the season when Arnautovic was struggling with an injury but manager Manuel Pellegrini is trying to bring in a new striker before the transfer window slams shut tomorrow.
