West Ham have seen their offer for Genoa forward Krzysztof Piatek turned down this week.
According to Alfredo Pedulla, of Sport Italia, West Ham made a €35m bid for Piatek, as they look to strengthen their squad this month.
The Hammers are looking at potential replacements for Marko Arnautovic, who is reportedly eyeing a move to China in the coming weeks.
The report claims that Genoa want €45m for the striker, including €5m in add-ons, due his impressive form this season.
Piatek has 19 goals in 20 starts for Genoa in all competitions this season, with 13 in the Serie A – a tally only bettered by Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Polish international has caught the eye of West Ham, who have now made their move, albeit unsuccessful, for Piatek.
Alfredo Pedulla does not claim whether or not West Ham will come in with another bid to match Genoa’s valuation of the number nine.
