West Ham have reportedly watched Piatek

West Ham have reportedly watched Krzysztof Piatek in action for Genoa this season.

The Hammers, according to the Daily Mail, are on the lookout for more attacking firepower in the ongoing January transfer window and could look to sign a new striker.

Javier Hernandez is understood to be a target for Valencia, while the report also suggests that Real Betis have established an interest in signing Lucas Perez from West Ham.

Marko Arnautovic, too, is the subject of interest from an ‘unnamed CSL club’, the Mail claims, with a £45 million offer expected to come in the immediate future.

This has prompted Manuel Pellegrini to apparently identify potential signings this month, with Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson and Genoa’s Piatek touted as two options.

The Poland international has been in impressive form for the Serie A side this term, finding the net on 13 occasions from just 18 starts.

West Ham are reported to be willing to allow the likes of Hernandez and Perez to move on during the mid-season window but will only sanction their departures if a replacement is waiting in the wings.

As speculation continues to surround the club’s plans for the final weeks of January, it seems Piatek could be a player who is considered by the Irons.
