Hammers reject €10m bid for Obiang

West Ham have rejected a €10 million bid for Pedro Obiang from Fiorentina, according to Sky Sports.

The midfielder was heavily linked with a move to Serie A during the summer but was eventually retained by Manuel Pellegrini.

It seems as though the Chilean is still eager to hold onto the 26-year-old though, with another attempt to lure the former Sampdoria man back to Italy rebuffed.

A fairly reliable depth option for the Irons this year, Obiang has made 18 appearances in all competitions this season.

Strong on the defensive side of the ball, the Spaniard is heavily coveted in Italy for his ability to sit deeper in midfield and cut out attacks with a stretch of the leg.

Whether Pellegrini is hell-bent on keeping Obiang at the London Stadium is unclear. Rather, he may indeed be waiting for a higher offer to come in for the player before giving him the green light to move on.
