Noble understands why Arnautovic is seeking West Ham exit

West Ham United captain Mark Noble has revealed that he understands why Marko Arnautovic wants to leave the club, according to a report on The Times.

The Austrian international has been heavily linked with a move to China and his brother, who also acts as his agent, has requested the club to allow him to leave this month.

The 29-year-old is being targeted by Shanghai SIPG, who are reportedly ready to offer £35m to secure his services.

Arnautovic has made it clear that as long as he is a West Ham player, he will give 100% on and off the pitch.

When speaking about the situation, Noble said:

He said ‘Mark, whatever happens, it is out of my hands, but as long as I play for this football team, I’m going to give 100 per cent,’ and you saw that. He is fantastic to have around there.

Do we hope he doesn’t go? Of course, he’s probably our best player. But I always think it is such a short career. You work until you are 35 and then you have got to find another living, you go to China for five years on £400,000 a week, you don’t.

If you are realistic, you can always see the football player’s point of view; he’s got kids and he wants to secure their future. Obviously, he is earning fantastic money here, but the money in China is a different kettle of fish.

Noble understands that with the amount of money that he would earn in China, Arnautovic will be able to provide for his family for a long time after retirement.

He waved to the fans when taken off against Arsenal in what looked like a farewell at the London Stadium.
