West Ham are believed to have sent scouts to observe Nantes striker Emiliano Sala against Marseille on Wednesday evening.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, a host of clubs from the Premier League are monitoring the progress of the forward, who has impressed in Ligue 1 this season.
The Hammers have been linked with a move for a new striker ahead of the January transfer window, with Sala among the names mentioned as a potential target.
He netted for the 13th time in the French top-flight this season on Wednesday and also chipped in with an assist as Nantes were able to get the better of Marseille in a dramatic 3-2 victory.
The 28-year-old striker is set to be highly sought after when the transfer window opens at the turn of the year.
Sala will not be sold cheaply by his team, however. It is reported by the Mail that Nantes will demand a fee worth at least £25 million for his services in January.
