Samir Nasri will sign a short-term contract with West Ham in January following the conclusion of his drugs ban.
The Daily Mail reports that the Hammers have decided to give the Frenchman the opportunity to impress following a trial period at the club.
Nasri has been training with West Ham in a bid to earn a deal as he approaches the end of his ban.
The former Manchester City midfielder is unable to sign for a club until the end of January next year.
He has been heavily linked with a Premier League return and Manuel Pellegrini has been eager to give him a chance to prove his worth.
The pair know each other well from their time at Manchester City and with West Ham’s current injury problems Nasri could prove to be a shrewd piece of business.
Pellegrini has been very vocal in his bid to snap up the former City midfielder, but following concerns over his fitness levels the Hammers have refused to rush into a decision.
