Jack Wilshere has joined Marko Arnautovic in the West Ham treatment room, with the midfielder also ruled out of this weekend’s clash with Crystal Palace.
BBC Sport have confirmed that the former Arsenal man will not be in action against Roy Hodgson’s men.
The Hammers were dealt a huge blow in the build-up to the game as it was confirmed that the Austrian would be sidelined for a month and the update on Wilshere’s fitness has made matters worse for Manuel Pellegrini.
Speaking about the midfielder’s fitness, the West Ham boss said:
Wilshere is not 100% comfortable so he won’t be available, but I think it will just be for this game.
Wilshere’s latest set back is another blow in what has been a frustrating start to his time at West Ham after making the move from Arsenal in the summer.
The midfielder has been unable to kick-start his Hammers career with injuries preventing him from featuring for large spells of the campaign.
The 26-year-old has started just four Premier League games for West Ham and only made his return to action against Newcastle off the bench recently.
