Arnautovic ruled out until 2019
West Ham United forward Marko Arnautovic has been ruled out until the end of the year after suffering a hamstring injury against Cardiff City on Tuesday night, according to a report on the Evening Standard.
The Austrian international was forced off the pitch late in the first half and was replaced by Lucas Perez, who went on to score twice to inspire the Hammers to a 3-1 victory.
Arnautovic is expected to be sidelined until after Christmas and will be a big miss for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, especially as the busy festive fixture schedule approaches.
The former Stoke City man suffered earlier in the season with a knee injury but continued to play through the pain for club and country.
The match was still 0-0 when Arnautovic was withdrawn but the performance of Perez will give Pellegrini hope that the Hammers can cope without their star forward.
He has managed to find the back of the net five times in the top flight so far this season and will be looking to recover as quickly as possible.
