West Ham United left-back Aaron Cresswell and centre-back Fabian Balbuena are both doubtful to face Cardiff City after picking up injuries during the 3-0 win over Newcastle United on Saturday.
As reported on the official club website, Cresswell was withdrawn during the match at St James’ Park with a hamstring injury.
The 28-year-old now faces a late fitness test ahead of Tuesday’s match with Cardiff, who are coming into the match with confidence after beating Wolves last Friday.
Hammers’ boss Manuel Pellegrini said:
From the last team, we have Cresswell, who has a hamstring injury, which is why he couldn’t continue the game. We will see him tomorrow and make the last decision, but it could be difficult.
We must see about Balbuena. He had a hard kick on Saturday. Those are the two players that have some problems.
Balbuena has been impressive at the back since joining the club during the summer transfer window and is forming a strong partnership with Issa Diop.
