West Ham unconvinced by Nasri’s fitness ahead of move

West Ham are still pondering over their move for Samir Nasri, with questions over the playmaker’s physical condition raised, according to a report from the Telegraph.

It’s claimed that the Hammers want to sign Nasri but have been left unconvinced by the prospect of offering him wages of around £80,000 per week as it is unclear how soon he will be fit for first-team action.

This suspension ends ahead of the New Year, however, and it’s reported by the Telegraph that West Ham are considering offering Nasri a route back into top-flight football.

The former Manchester City star underwent a medical at West Ham on Monday but talks are still to be had regarding the player’s earnings at the club.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side are reportedly set to table an initial six-month offer to Nasri which will run until the end of the season.

A potential extension of a year may then be discussed if the move goes through and Nasri impresses in the second half of the campaign.
