Fornals unwilling to complete West Ham switch
West Ham are prepared to splash the cash to recruit Pablo Fornals, according to Spanish news outlet AS, but the player himself is keen to remain at Villarreal.
The Hammers are understood to have established an interest in signing Fornals in the January transfer window, as Manuel Pellegrini looks to add to his pool of midfield options.
It’s reported by AS that West Ham are prepared to trigger the release clause in Fornals’ contract with Villarreal, which is set at a price of €30 million.
However, it seems the Hammers will struggle to bring Fornals to the Premier League in January.
The player is understood to be keen on staying put at Villarreal as he looks to inspire them to climb up the La Liga table following their torrid start to the new season.
Villarreal are currently struggling in the top-flight of Spanish football and sit in 16th place.
Fornals, however, remains a key player for Villarreal and has continued to catch the eye. This has evidently piqued the interest of West Ham and also Fulham, according to AS.
