Samir Nasri wants £5m-a-year from West Ham

Samir Nasri has told West Ham that he is looking for a yearly salary of £5million, according to Ian Ladyman of The Mail.

The former Arsenal and Manchester City midfielder is a free agent and is looking for a return to action after serving a drugs ban and Manuel Pellegrini seems keen to bring him to the London Stadium.

Pellegrini and Nasri know each other well after working together at City, Nasri was even named the Man of the Match as City won the League Cup in 2014, Pellegrini’s first trophy win at the club.

Aged 31, the Frenchman still feels like he has a lot to offer and he’s looking to restore his reputation after he was banned for receiving an intravenous drip of 500 millilitres of water containing nutrients, which is a breach of WADA rules.

Nasri’s wage demands, which work out at around £96,000-a-week, could be a stumbling block in a potential move but West Ham are in talks with his representatives about a potential deal.
