Spurs to be without Vertonghen for West Ham clash

West Ham have been handed a boost ahead of their clash with Spurs next weekend with the news that Jan Vertonghen will miss out.

The central defender will be missing from the Spurs lineup until December as he recovers from a hamstring injury.

The 31-year-old had appeared in seven Premier League matches and one Champions League encounter for his club so far this season, and will be severely missed by the North Londoners when they travel across the capital to face West Ham next Saturday.

Fortunately for Spurs (or unfortunately for West Ham), Colombia’s Davinson Sanchez will likely start in Vertonghen’s place.

West Ham will be able to count on Marko Arnautovic in the match, after the colossal Austrian confirmed he was able to play through the pain caused by the injury to his knee.
