Anderson continues to eye Brazil call-up

In an interview with Globo Esporte, West Ham star Felipe Anderson discussed his ambitions for the future and admitted that a call-up to the Brazilian national team is on his mind.

The winger joined the Hammers in the summer from Lazio for a club-record fee as Manuel Pellegrini looked to add creativity to his pool of attacking options.

After what was a relatively slow start to proceedings, Anderson appears to have found his feet with West Ham as they push their way up the Premier League table.

Anderson found the net for the first time since joining the club on Saturday. He opened the scoring in West Ham’s impressive 3-1 win at home against Manchester United.

The wide player, who is also capable of operating in a more central role, was quizzed on his aspirations for the future and was quick to admit that receiving a Brazil call-up is at the top of his wish list.

The biggest goal is to reach the Seleção, I hope for my opportunity. I’ll work very strongly, even to repay the trust West Ham have placed in me. Every player dreams of playing for the national team, and that dream is getting closer and closer.

For now, however, Anderson remains focused on contributing to what is now shaping up to be a promising season for the Hammers.

We have to show good football besides the victories. We can attack a lot, even by the way the coach likes to play. Also for the big signings – myself included. We know we have to give more than the best.
