West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that he is confident that youngster Declan Rice will sign a new contract with the club, according to a report on Sky Sports.
The 19-year-old has rejected the Hammers’ initial offer of around £15,000 a week but Pellegrini believes that the issue will be resolved soon.

Rice’s current contract with the London club expires in June 2019 and the club is desperate to keep their highly-rated teenager with them for the future.
When speaking about Rice’s contract situation, Pellegrini said:
Declan I think must try to continue to have good performances, not thinking about more or less money at the moment.
Nobody at the club is stupid. He’s not a young player anymore and I don’t think he will have any problems with his contract in the future.
Rice has impressed in the defensive midfield role so far this season under Pellegrini and he could find himself playing there throughout this season.
If he continues playing well and stalling on signing a new contract, then interest in him from other clubs is certain to increase.
