Young West Ham United defender Declan Rice has revealed that the squad is in high spirits after the win against Everton and the draw against Chelsea, according to a report on the Independent.
Rice has been used in a defensive midfield role by manager Manuel Pellegrini and he has excelled in that position so far this season.

The 19-year-old revealed that the players were “buzzing” ahead of the Chelsea match and after drawing against Maurizio Sarri’s side, they have put their poor start to the season behind them.
The Hammers lost four consecutive league matches but have responded with two very good performances to ease the pressure off Pellegrini.
Following the 0-0 draw with Chelsea, Rice said:
Without a doubt we could have had three points, with the chances we missed in the first half and obviously, Yarmolenko’s header at the end was a crucial turning point in the game.
But other than that I thought we were excellent. We all knew our jobs and we all gave 100 per cent. We took so much confidence from last week. Once you get three points everyone is happy and we were so close to getting that again. Everyone was still buzzing.
It feels a bit like two points dropped, but a draw is better than a loss. We’ve got Manchester United at home next week and that’s a crucial game, so hopefully, we can take the three points there.
Rice and his fellow defensive players did a very good job to stop Chelsea’s playmaker Eden Hazard at the London Stadium, with the Belgian barely getting a sniff at goal.
