West Ham rejected loan offers over the summer for youngster Xande Silva, with the club eager to keep him around this season.
According to Football London, Manuel Pellegrini was keen to have him around the first-team as he feels he has the ability to be competiting for a place in his Premier League squad.
West Ham signed Silva in the summer after he impressed for Portugal’s youth sides.
He has scored five goals in five league games for West Ham’s under-23’s so far this season and could find himself in a matchday squad for the first-team before long.
The report claims that a number of teams in the Football League enquired about his services, but West Ham rebuffed all attempts to prize him away on loan.
The 21-year-old scored one goal in 26 senior appearances for Vitória Guimarães in Portugal.
