Everton are likely to be without Theo Walcott for their upcoming Premier League clash with West Ham, according to a report from the Telegraph.
The Toffees were hopeful of Walcott’s chances of returning to full fitness ahead of the encounter with the Hammers, with the experienced winger nursing a rib injury.
However, it seems the West Ham fixture will come too soon for Walcott, who has not yet fully recovered from an injury he sustained in Everton’s 1-1 draw against Huddersfield Town prior to the international break.
Walcott has enjoyed a strong start to the campaign and will undoubtedly be left frustrated by the knock he is currently nursing, with Ademola Lookman now reportedly set to be handed his first Premier League start under Marco Silva.
The news of Walcott’s fitness worries is sure to come as a boost to Manuel Pellegrini and his men as they look to secure their first point of the new Premier League campaign.
