West Ham star Andriy Yarmolenko has been reflecting on his side’s horrendous start to the new Premier League season.
As quoted by the Mirror, the Ukraine international was in apologetic mood as his side succumbed to their fourth consecutive defeat in the top-flight against newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers.
I want to say sorry to our fans, and we must perform better. We have good players and a good coach, but we must fight for results. Now we must think hard about our next game, concentrate hard and win.
It was a rather timid performance from the Hammers at the London Stadium and Wolves were able to secure a 1-0 win in stoppage time, as Adama Traore raced clear to convert beyond Lukasz Fabianski.

Speaking after the match, Yarmolenko struggled to explain what has gone wrong at West Ham so far, admitting that he did not know how to explain the team’s recent struggles.
Every player must think about his game. After two weeks we must play better because we must play for our fans and for our club. This result is very, very bad for us. It’s really difficult for us and I don’t know what to say.
The Hammers spent big on several players in the summer, including Yarmolenko, but have not yet reaped the rewards, as they sit rock bottom of the Premier League table with four losses from as many fixtures to their name.
Former Borussia Dortmund star Yarmolenko will hope to provide the missing spark for West Ham after the international break as the club look to pull themselves out of their current rut.
