Vida was a key cog in Croatia’s side as they reached the final of the World Cup for the first time in their history – going on to lose 4-2 to France in Russia.

The 29-year-old wants to leave Besiktas and has told the Turkish giants of his ambition to play in the Premier League next season.

Manuel Pellegrini is keen to continue making additions to his squad and sees Vida as a good replacement for the injured Winston Reid.

Liverpool and Everton have been previously linked with the central defender.
