West Ham reportedly reach loan agreement with Sampdoria for Obiang

West Ham and Sampdoria have reportedly agreed a loan deal with an obligation to buy for Pedro Obiang.

The Hammers are looking to make changes to their midfield options this summer, with Cheikhou Kouyate also believed to be heading out, as Obiang’s exit edges ever closer.

It’s claimed by Tutto Mercato, as cited in a report from Inside Futbol, that instead of selling Obiang to Sampdoria this summer, the Hammers have agreed to allow him to leave on an initial loan deal.

Earlier this week, it was reported that West Ham had been offered a figure worth €9 million from the Serie A club in their bid to re-sign Obiang.

However, according to new claims from Italy, it seems a loan move could be on the cards, with Sampdoria then obligated to recruit Obiang on a permanent basis in the summer of 2019.

It’s stated in the report that an initial loan fee of €2 million will be paid to West Ham for Obiang’s arrival before a sum worth €7 million is then coughed up by the Italian club.
