West Ham considering free transfer deal for Hatem Ben Arfa

West Ham are interested in a deal to sign Hatem Ben Arfa on a free transfer this summer.

According to French journalist Nizar Hanini of Foot 365, the Hammers are in the running to sign former Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder.

Ben Arfa’s contract in Paris expired at the end of the season and he has since left the club, bringing an end to a turbulent spell with the Ligue 1 champions.

The player had fallen out of favour at the club and failed to make a single domestic appearance for Paris Saint-Germain last season.

He had gone public with his feelings towards the club on several occasions and left on bad terms after being banished from the first-team squad.

Ben Arfa thrived during his stint at Nice, which would go on to earn him his move to PSG, but he has been unable to recreate that level of form since.
