Sampdoria have reportedly expressed an interest in signing West Ham midfielder Edimilson Fernandes this summer.
According to claims from Italian news outlet Di Marzio, the Serie A outfit are looking to sign a replacement for Lucas Torreira, who recently secured a big-money move to Arsenal.
It’s believed that Sampdoria have identified a number of players who could step into the defensive midfield role that has been left vacant by Torreira’s departure, with Fernandes among the options under consideration.

Sampdoria are also stated to have considered a move for Hebei China Fortune midfielder Stephane M’Bia.
Several members of West Ham’s first-team squad have been linked with respective exits from the London Stadium this summer, with Manuel Pellegrini reportedly looking to trim his squad.
West Ham are reportedly listening to offers for Cheikhou Kouyate and Pedro Obiang this summer, with the latter also having been linked with a return to Italy.
However, Fernandes is the latest man to be touted with a potential departure, with Sampdoria considering the 22-year-old as a potential transfer target.
