West Ham and Manchester United have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Sporting CP right-back Cristiano Piccini.
According to an exclusive report from Turkish-Football, sources close to the player have indicated that he could look to move away from Sporting following the recent attack on the club’s players by ‘fans’ at the training ground.
Piccini is believed to be unsettled by the recent events and is weighing up his options ahead of next season. According to Turkish-Football, the Hammers could be one of these options, with Manuel Pellegrini’s side among the potential suitors for Piccini.

It would be an unusual move for West Ham given their recent signing of Ryan Fredericks from Fulham, with the Englishman also a right-back.
However, it seems interest is building with regards to a deal for Piccini this summer. It’s claimed that Besiktas have made a concrete approach for the player, whilst Inter Milan are also keen.
If West Ham are indeed serious in their interest in signing Piccini, it seems they’ll need to act fast to fend off competition from across Europe.
