Alassane Plea has reportedly turned down moves to West Ham and Newcastle in order to complete a switch to the Bundesliga with Borussia Monchengladbach.
According to Nice-Matin, as cited on Get French Football News, the player has made it known he would like to join the Bundesliga outfit, rather than move to the Premier League.
Tottenham were also thought to be interested in the player as an alternative to Anthony Martial.
The report claims that Plea has agreed a four-year deal to sign for Gladbach with a medical scheduled for tomorrow.
The two clubs agreed a €23 million fee for the player, a figure reportedly below what both Premier League sides were willing to offer.
Plea’s former side Lyon are set to pocket around €4 million from the deal after inserting a sell-on clause in the move that took him to Nice.
He and Mario Balotelli are both expected to leave Nice this summer after impressing during their time at the club.
