Obiang coveted by multiple Serie A clubs

Pedro Obiang has reportedly been the subject of several bids from Serie A clubs, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Spaniard has been at West Ham for three years, and in that time has made 67 appearances for the Hammers.

With new manager Manuel Pellegrini preparing the squad for his first season in charge, Atalanta and Fiorentina have tried to make a swoop for the physical midfielder.

Obiang has experience of the Italian top-flight, beginning his career with Sampdoria, making 128 appearances for the Genoa-based outfit.

West Ham are said to have been unresponsive to the approaches for Obiang, indicating that the Madrid-native may be integral to Pellegrini’s plans at the London Stadium.

In addition to the interest from Italy, La Liga side Villarreal are also keen on bringing Obiang back to the nation of his birth.

Obiang has received seven caps at age group for Spain, most recently appearing for the U21s in 2014.
