The 25-year-old was ever present for Gladbach in the Bundesliga last season, helping the club to a ninth-place finish.

Spurs have also been linked with the player in the past but it is unclear as to whether they will reignite their interest this summer.

Manuel Pellegrini has been looking to reshape the Hammers’ backline this summer.

The signings of Ryan Fredericks, Łukasz Fabiański and Issa Diop could see the club start the season with a new-look defence.
