West Ham have reportedly tabled a bid worth €8 million for Genoa defender Armando Izzo.
The Hammers’ interest in signing the centre-back has been well documented over the course of the last few weeks and it’s believed that the club have held talks with representatives from Genoa to discuss a move.
Izzo enjoyed a strong season in Serie A and as a result of his impressive form throughout the campaign, interest from elsewhere has developed.
Following seemingly positive talks with Genoa’s representatives, it’s claimed by Sportitalia, via Calciomercato, that West Ham have made a bid worth €8m in an attempt to recruit the player.
Manuel Pellegrini wants to add yet more defensive quality to his West Ham side following the addition of Ryan Fredericks and Issa Diop already this summer.
Izzo is a key player for Genoa and it remains to be seen whether or not they will accept West Ham’s opening proposal of €8m along with additional bonuses reported to be worth €2m.
