Krasnodar rule out Smolov transfer

West Ham target Feder Smolov will not be moving today, his club FC Krasnodar have confirmed.

In a statement, Krasnodar confirmed that Smolov will be continuing his career at the club, ruling out any chance of West Ham being able to sign the Russian forward. The news comes as it become increasingly likely that Hammers striker Andre Ayew will be moving back to his former club Swansea City.

Smolov has been with Krasnodar since 2015, signing from Dinamo Moscow. Since then he has made 90 appearances, scoring 59 goals and setting up a further 16 for his teammates.

The 27-year-old has been playing for his country since 2012. He has 28 caps, and has scored 11 international goals.

West Ham sit 10th in the Premier League, and drew 1-1 last night with fellow London side Crystal Palace. With or without a new striker, they will face Watford on Saturday at the London Stadium.
