West Ham are thought to be stepping up their interest in Atletico Madrid winger Nicolas Gaitan, according to reports from TMW, cited by sportwitness.
Gaitan, 29, has only featured six times in La Liga for Madrid this season, and with the Spanish side bringing in Vitolo and Diego Costa this month, is thought to be surplus to requirements.
Premier League sides Swansea City, Southampton and Everton have all been linked with the Argentine this month as the player looks set for a move, with Hammers boss David Moyes also now showing a strong interest in the winger.

It is still not clear whether West Ham are looking to buy the player outright, or take Gaitan on loan for the remainder of the season, with Atletico valuing the winger around €17 million.
Gaitan enjoyed six successful seasons with Benfica before making the move to Spain, and after a positive start in La Liga during the previous campaign, looks set to move on after being frozen out by manager Diego Simeone.
