West Ham have been heavily linked with a move for Joao Mario over the past week and look to have finally sealed the deal.

Mario is set to sign for West Ham on loan until the end of the season, with Manuel Lanzini out injured Mario will act as his replacement in the number ten position.

The club had reportedly made an offer for Norwich attacking midfielder James Maddison, though that deal appears to be off the table now with Mario coming in from Inter Milan.

The Portuguese international has struggled at Inter since his big move to the club and is looking to gain regular game time with West Ham under David Moyes.

Mario is yet to test himself in England and is now set to have his first taste of Premier League football.

West Ham could announce the signing before the weekend.
