West Ham express interest in signing Marko Grujic

West Ham are eager to make midfield improvements this month and they have been linked with a number of Premier League talents.

ESPNFC sources understand that the Hammers have expressed and interest in signing out-of-favour Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic on loan during the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old has made just three substitute appearances in the Premier League this season for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp is eager to send him away to play some regular first-team football.

David Moyes is not alone in his pursuit of the Serbia international as both Huddersfield and Aston Villa are also keen on recruiting the midfielder.

Huddersfield boss David Wagner has a strong relationship with Klopp dating back to their time together at Borussia Dortmund which could be a decisive factor on deciding where Grujic plays his football in the second half of the season.

Newcastle’s Jonjo Shelvey, Bournemouth’s Harry Arter, Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini and Anderlecht Leander Dendoncker have all also been linked with the Hammers this month to solve their midfield crisis.
