West Ham will face competition from Everton in the race to sign Alfie Mawson this month.
The Mirror report that the former West Ham boss, Sam Allardyce, now in charge at Everton, is looking to shake up the Toffees’ defence.
West Ham have been heavily linked with a move for Mawson and have reportedly had a bid turned down.
David Moyes has identified the defender and has seen a £18 million bid rejected for the former Barnsley man.
The Hammers have been told to pay closer to £25 million for the defender that Swansea are desperate to keep as they bid to stay in the Premier League.
Mawson has impressed this season in a struggling Swansea side who sit bottom of the Premier League after the festive period.
The defender has been ever-present for Swansea this season, starting all of their 22 games, scoring once along the way.
