West Ham sack Slaven Bilic

West Ham United have sacked manager Slaven Bilic after the club’s poor start to the 2017/18 season.

The 4-1 defeat at home to Liverpool at the weekend left the Hammers in the relegation zone with nine points from their 11 games and the club’s owners have decided that now is the right time to make a change.

West Ham hired Bilic in 2015 and in his first season as manager, the Hammers finished seventh in the Premier League after amassing 62 points, their highest points total since the league was reduced to 20 teams back in 1992.

However, things have gone sour in a hurry and with his side having conceded more goals (23) than any other in the top flight this season, Bilic now finds himself looking for a new job.

David Moyes is the reported favourite to take over at the London Stadium but no word has been officially made on Bilic‘s replacement as it stands.

Billic’s coaching team of Nikola Jurcevic, Edin Terzic, Julian Dicks and Miljenko Rak have also left their positions at the club.
